- 1 complimentary game drive is included per person per night’s stay. Please refer to Wildlife Activities page for further information.
- Children aged 12 years and younger (maximum two children per room) will be accommodated free of charge on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, including one game drive, if sharing with one or two adults. A park entrance fee of R 60.00 will apply to children 12 years and younger.
- Children aged 13-17 years will be accommodated free of charge on a room only basis and will be charged  2026 - R 970 per child per day for breakfast, dinner and one game drive, if sharing with one or two adults.

- 2 complimentary game drives is included per person per night’s stay. Please refer to Wildlife Activities page for further information.
- Children aged 12 years and younger (maximum two children per room) will be accommodated free of charge on a full board basis inclusive of dinner, bed, breakfast, lunch and two game drives per day, if sharing with one or two adults.
- Children aged 13-17 years will be accommodated free of charge on a room only basis and will be charged  2026 - R1 640 per child per day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and two game drives, if sharing with one or two adults.

- A park entrance fee of R 60 will apply to children 12 years and younger.

Where it all began

Located on the outer rim of an extinct volcano which erupted some 1300 million years ago, lies Kwa Maritane, ‘The Place of the Rock’.

Overlooking a unique granite dome is Kwa Maritane, Legacy’s oldest and most famous bush lodge, host to families, businessmen and delegates from all over the world. The lodge is famous for its hide and waterhole linked by a 180m long tunnel, its outstanding cuisine and the hospitality of its staff. Guests can enjoy a host of recreational activities including dawn and evening Big Five game drives in the tender care of our experienced game rangers, bushveld boma barbeques, golf and other recreational activities at nearby Sun City, or simply relaxing in the lodge’s beautiful gardens and restaurant.

We specialise in conventions, breakfasts, lunches, seminars, cocktail receptions, dinner dances, banquets, private dinners, product launches and team-building exercises. Game Drives:

Game drives are available daily on open game drive vehicles to explore the Pilanesberg National Park spanning over 55 000 hectares of rolling plains, In addition to cheetah, giraffe, antelope and hyena - to name a few - you will be enthralled by Africa's famous Big Five in their natural habitat. 

Game drives depart early morning and late afternoon into the picturesque Pilanesberg National Park. Departure times differ throughout the year according to the season. Game Drives last approximately 3-4 hours, depending on weather conditions and animal

Wildlife activities and game drives:

Morning Drive – 3 hours duration, early departure in summer, returning in time for a late breakfast. Departs at 08h00 during the winter months.
Afternoon Drive – 3 hours duration with a stop in the reserve for sundowners. Game is viewed by spotlight on the return journey.
Night Drive – Only during the summer months, departing early evening & providing viewing of some of the nocturnal species found in the park.
Game Drive / Bush Braai – Following a normal afternoon drive, guests are taken directly to our Bush Boma in the Park where they will enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars before returning to the Lodge.
Game walk – Guided walks within the Park accompanied by an armed Field Guide.
Wildlife Centre – Housing a mini theatre showing wildlife movies and an array of interesting displays. Field Guides in attendance to answer questions.
Star Gazing evenings – Held once per week. Viewing the bodies comprising our solar system with the aid of a telescope. Assisted by a trained Field Guide.

Deposit Policy

For all bookings made within 30 days of travel
Full payment Is required within 48 hours of your booking.
For all bookings made more than 30 days of travel
A 50% deposit Is required within 48 hours of your booking and the balance 30 days prior to arrival.
Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card (Master/Visa) or bitcoin.

Cancellation Policy

• If the reservation is cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival a 50% cancellation fee will apply.
• If cancelled 7 days or less prior to arrival a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
• A 10% admin fee will be retained for cancellations made after the card has been charged.

Junior Rangers

Legacy Junior Rangers programme is available for all children aged 6-12 years. Activities are geared around natural resource protection, environmental education and responsible recreation offering a special opportunity to explore the Pilanesberg National Park. The Junior Rangers Program is available at a small additional cost to parents and usually takes 2 days to complete. On completion of the program, children will be including in a graduation ceremony and will be given a certificate and badges for activities completed.

The rate for day use will be the single room rate, but the room must be vacated prior to 17h00, and is subject to availability.

Rejuvenate your mind, body and soul in our magnificent spa. Indulge yourself with treatments such as Thabayadiotso, our signature treatment, or be pampered with a pedicure while watching the game feeding on the plains in front of the Spa. Whether it is a full body massage, in which the masseur uses Mountain Aloe Oil, or a soothing, deep cleansing facial using warm volcanic milk, the professional therapists will simply spoil you. There are four treatment rooms, including one suite suitable for couples wanting to share the experience. There is also a manicure and pedicure lounge, a rasul chamber, relaxation area and hydro pool. Crystal clear water and a view that many would never want to leave - dive in and soak up the bushveld.

Enjoy our outdoor bush braai area where you can savour some of the best South African cuisine. Boma dinners take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Saturdays include marimba band entertainment.

Come, relax and grab a book to read in our cosy cocktail lounge and bar. For groups, you can use this as an area for pre-dinner drinks or even host wine or whiskey tastings.

There are 2 flood-lit tennis courts where the family can battle it out on the court. Tennis rackets and balls can be collected at our reception.

Come and dine at our wonderful restaurant overlooking the Pilanesberg National Park. Enjoy our Fisherman's Catch themed buffet on Friday evenings, our Butcher's Grill themed buffet on Saturday evenings and our Lamb on the Spit themed buffet for Sunday Lunch.

Our bar and lounge area is situated between reception and the restaurant, conveniently close to the main pool area. Local or international sports will be aired on the TV.

Come and play a competitive game on our 9 hole bush putt-putt course. Equipment for putt-putt can be found at our reception.

Bring your kids along to our jungle gym that is immersed in a sand pit.

Wildlife Centre & Museum

Visit the Wildlife Centre & Museum to see snakes in enclosures as well as displays of animal skulls and droppings. You can make your bookings for the game activities at this centre as well.

KWA LEFIKENG RESTAURANT
Enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner in The Kwa Lefikeng Restaurant, overlooking "The Rock", the waterhole, and the magnificent granite formations within the park. Our selected buffets and carvery dinners will leave you spoilt for choice as you sample on delicious, traditionally South African fare.

A Fisherman's Catch seafood evening takes place every Friday, with a traditional lamb on the spit for Sunday lunch.

KWA MARITANE BOMAS
Every Wednesday and Saturday we offer you the chance to dine in our big boma under the brilliance of the African stars - an indescribable plethora of universal magic. Dine to the sound of traditional entertainment, and feast on a wide selection of local flame grilled cuisine.

For more intimate occasions, make use of our small boma which seats up to 25 people. The perfect location for a private dinner, wedding reception or gathering with friends and family. Enquire for more information.

LOUNGE
Join us in our downstairs lounge and library for relaxation and restoration. Bring your book, or simply read one of ours on loan to all guests, while still enjoying the sights and sounds of nature around you.

KWA MAZOUT BAR
Situated next to the main swimming pool, be spoilt for choice with a selection of refreshing cocktails, local wines and beers or soft drinks to sip on one while lazing under a palm tree. For the sports enthusiasts, watch your favourite team play live on the big TV.
