Head towards Sun City on the R556 and pass by the entrance to Sun City on the right.
Continue for 5.11 km to the T-junction and turn right onto the R565 (Swartruggens).
Continue on this road for approximately 27 km through a small village (beware of potholes) until you arrive at the Black Rhino Game Reserve entrance on the right.
Sign in at the gate and either drive on directly to the lodge or request that we collect you from the gate if you do not want to drive your car on the dirt roads.
A standard clearance sedan should be able to reach Morokolo Game Lodge (No 19 Black Rhino Reserve) without difficulty.
From the Black Rhino Game Reserve gate, drive for 2,9 km along the road until you meet an intersection, continue straight for 500m till you see our lodge on the right; No 19 Black Rhino Reserve.

The Black Rhino Reserve forms part of the Greater Pilanesberg National Park measuring 57 000 hectares. Situated in the north western corner of the Pilanesberg National Park, The Black Rhino Reserve is just under 2 500 hectares in size and represents the first portion of private land incorporated into the Pilanesberg National Park. It is a private concession with its own entrance on the north-western side of the park.

Elephant, buffalo and a variety of antelope often roam in this area as they take shelter in remote areas not accessible to other visitors to Pilanesberg National Park. Characterised by a beautiful forest of Tamboti trees and occasional sightings of the bad tempered Black Rhino, the Black Rhino Reserve is home to the BIG 5 (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, White & Black Rhino) as well as a wide variety of antelope species (including Sable, Tsetsebe, Eland, Kudu and Springbok) and the rare sightings of wild dog.

With a species list of over 354, the Black Rhino Reserve is also a true "birders paradise".

On-site Activities at Morokolo Safari Lodges

One professionally-guided Big 5 vehicle safaris (included in the room rates) each day will keep you in awe of the splendid natural beauty of the Black Rhino Reserve and the Pilanesberg National Park. Elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalo, wild dogs, kudus, wildebeest, warthogs and spring hares are but a few of the more commonly seen animals. Limited to 6 guests per vehicle due to COVID-19 precautionary measures.

Walking safaris are available on prior request. The walk focuses on locating and observing the inhabitants of the Black Rhino Game Reserve from a different angle - on foot. Guests are accompanied by a qualified guide who will share his/her extensive knowledge and experience on both fauna and flora. Excursions depart in the early morning (not included in the rates).

The lodge is able to accommodate a max 10 adults and 2 kids under 10

Excludes:

Black Rhino Game Reserve conservation / entrance fees of R195 per person per day
The Conservation Levies R250 per person per night and R115 per child (5 - 9 years) per night
Refunds for cancellation of game drive due to inclement weather.
Any meals, refreshments, beverages or additional activities.
Any other personal charges, such as breakage deposit.
Breakage deposit of R1000 – refundable after check-out (net of any charges to your account).

Optional Add-ons:

Additional professionally guided drive safaris, maximum 10 guests:
o For up to four guests sharing = R 2,000 per drive
o Additional guests sharing = R 500 per person
Charges are split between guest groups
All professionally guided walking safaris, maximum 4 guests per walk:
o For up to two guests = min R 1,500.00 per walk
o For three or four guests = R 750.00 per person
Baby sitting service charged for separately.
Additional firewood charged at R 35 per bag
Additional firelighters during stay charged at R25 per packet.

Terms & Conditions:

Cardholder & ID/Passport must be present at check-in / preferably prior to arrival. The credit card used for the online payments must be present at check-in.
All guests to sign the North West Parks Board and Black Rhino Game Reserve indemnity forms including compliance with all rules and regulations of the parks, reserve and lodges.
The rules governing game drives do not permit children under 6 on the game drives for their own safety. If you would like we can arrange a babysitter to look after them at an hourly rate. Children
between 6 and 12 years are permitted to join the adult game drives at the ranger’s discretion. There are only a maximum of 10 guests (including children) allowed on the game drive vehicle.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
If cancelling 60 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total.
If cancelling 90 days before arrival, forfeit 15% of the booking total

Morokolo SafariLodge provides everything you need to relax after action packed safari's. A swimming pool with recliner chairs is ideal for lazy afternoons. The communal area has barbecue (braai) facilities for social meals around the fire.

The main lodge building with its lounge area comes fully fitted with HD TV, DSTV, DVD player, a bar and pool table for your entertainment.

Conference Facilities at Morokolo Game Lodge

The main lodge is laid out as an open-plan area with boardroom conference table that seats up to 12 delegates.
A data projector is available as part of the conference package, as well as tea and coffee, snacks, writing equipment and flipchart. Book for 8 adults sharing in order to secure exclusive use of the conference area.

Executive Suite

Executive Suite · max 2 guests Some lodges also offer one or two spacious and comfortable stone and thatch family suites consisting of an open-plan bedroom and seating area with loft. With a king-sized bed downstairs and 2 single beds in the loft this is ideal for a family with two children under 12 years old. The modern en-suite bathroom has a shower, bath and double basin. In the seating area is a mini bar fridge with tea and coffee station. Most of the family suites have a large open outside shower under the African Sky. Baby cots are available on request.

The executive suite sleeps two people and has its own kitchen, lounge, patio and boma braai area, neatly situated away from all the other suites for that extra bit of privacy.

Family Suite

With a king-sized bed downstairs and 2 single beds in the loft this is ideal for a family with two children under 12 years old. The modern en-suite bathroom has a shower, bath and double basin. In the seating area is a mini bar fridge with tea and coffee station. Most of the family suites have a large open outside shower under the African Sky. Baby cots are available on request.

Double Suite

Double Suite · max 2 guests All our lodges include well-appointed stone and thatch double suites consisting of a spacious bedroom with king-sized bed, lounge area with tea and coffee station and mini bar fridge. The luxurious en-suite bathroom has a shower and large stone bath. Most of the suites have a large open outside shower under the African Sky.Baby cots are available on request. Some of these suites can be set up as two single beds if preferred.
